Carissa and My Big Trip

Dreamed Night of August 1

Two dreams last night, both very vivid. The first was a Planet Lazer dream that started out with me arriving at PL from Carissa's wedding. Something had gone wrong with the food at her wedding and I hadn't gotten anything to eat. So I was going to eat something before I played some laser tag. As I sat down to eat a burger or something, Carissa and Elijah showed up. I felt instantly guilty since I was eating just after their wedding where they had supposedly fed me, but it turns out they were also hungry since they hadn't had the chance to eat either. So we sat down to some food together. Then I went to go play a game of laser tag.

Jason Green was there and said I could get into the league game that was going on. Which doesn't make any sense; you can't very well switch players in/out in a league game, but I went in to play anyway. There were about 20 people in the game and Tony was trying to explain the rules to me, since they were different for this league game than in a normal game. You had to shoot people in a certain order since each person was worth a different point value based on the card they had pulled from a deck. I was trying to understand and, thinking I knew what he was saying, summarized the rules back to him: each person is worth a value depending on how high of a card they get (ace high, twos the lowest, etc) so you want to eliminate the highest value people first. He said, no, that's not it at all. And it was too complicated for me to figure out, so they played without me. I was befuddled since I am rarely confused so easily. And I didn't get to play!

In my next dream I had just flown to Brazil to do a tour around Australia. In the dream, Australia was smooshed onto the bottom part of South America, so the tour started in Brazil and then went south into Australia. I had signed up to do this tour by myself for some reason and was nervous about doing such a big trip without anyone I knew. There were about a dozen other people on the trip and they all had proper backpacking gear like tents and lamps and rain gear which was making me even more nervous since I only had the stuff that I'm traveling with right now (no sleeping bag, a bunch of dirty clothes, no tents or gear or anything).

After a sort of orientation where the guide told us we'd be hiking all the way there, an average of 100 km per day, I was thinking of backing out of the trip. But I'd already flown to Brazil and it was only a week long tour and I was imagining how proud I would be of myself if I could do it. I was still waffling on the matter when I awoke.
